Music Curriculum

Our music program offers quality music reaching all ages and stages.

·         For UPK and Head Start Programs, ages 3 – 5 years old, we provide basic exposure to Classical, Jazz, Rhythm, and Multicultural styles of music.  In addition we offer introductory training in Note Values and Pitch – basic components of music.  We also lead early Drumming and Movement response to ‘Drum Talk’ as well as to other genre of music.

·         For Elementary or Lower level students (ages 6 – 12 years old) we reinforce our earlier program with the addition of basic instrument skills in Violin, Drum, Recorder, and Keyboard.  We focus upon an appreciation for quality music forms through listening, responding, and discussing.

·         Building upon these earlier training foundations, we continue our musical component with Middle or Junior High School students through adults (age 13 years and up) with deeper instrumental training and compositional aspects along with rehearsal and performance skills.

·         EID offers assemblies which highlight the integrated arts through lecture/demonstration and audience participation for all ages.  We are available to lead multicultural, thematic showcase assemblies – ex. African, Latin, Asian, Indian,
