The Program Class Structure:
Each Education In Dance residency class combines:
- Basic dance forms and creative movement
- Quality music (classical, jazz and world)
- Visual Art: painting, sculpture and photography
- Cultural explorations utilizing language and history
- Drama games for self-esteem building Sensory awareness methods Health and nutrition options
The curriculum highlights shapes, levels, colors, locomotor skills, seasonal and nature themes, as well as school-based program concepts addressing the New York State Standards and the NYCDOE Blueprint for the Arts.
Education In Dance faculty are available to teach residencies during the academic day, after school programs, school breaks, and evenings. Residencies meet the needs of Commons programs include one site visit per week (for 12 weeks - year-round).
Professional Development and Team Building sessions available. Residencies are taught by a team of Education In Dance teaching-artists.
