The Visual Arts

Education In Dance offers exposure and exploration in various visual art forms including drawing, painting, collage, and sculpture.

- For our pre-school/UPK classes (ages 3 – 5 years) we offer experiences with basic materials – paints, oil pastels, charcoal, and clay.  We look at examples of quality artwork which serve as a foundation for lifetime appreciation.  Students learn to handle and respect tools and materials.

- Elementary level (6 – 12 years) students build upon our earlier program with further techniques and explorations in drawing, painting, and sculpture.  We prepare classes for visits to museum collections by introducing them to major artists and their work.

- From high school through adulthood, our visual arts program continues with further studio projects as well as exposure to concepts of major art movements, then and now.  These art making explorations build upon their growing knowledge of art concept, elements, styles and techniques.
